Seen as a whole, the human rights situation in Montenegro, despite some progress, can not be considered satisfactory, especially when it comes to vulnerable groups, i.e. persons with disabilities, frail people, women, LGBT and Roma and Egyptian population, said ombudsman Sucko Bakovic.
On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, Bakovic said that some progress was recorded in human rights during this year in Montenegro, but seen as a whole, the human rights situation can not be considered satisfactory, according to Anatolia Agency.
When asked to assess the human rights situation in Montenegro, Bakovic said that certain progress was made in respecting human rights.
"There has been progress in legislation, in harmonization of the national legislation with the EU acquis and in the application of fundamental rights," he stated.
