Call for applications for hiring professors / mentors for Roma secondary school students who regulary attend school

NGO Young Roma is announcing a call for applications to hire professors on the territory of Montenegro who will monitor and support students from the Roma population in attending secondary education for the school year 2019/2020.
Criteria for selection of mentors:
- Graduated teachers of school subjects; school pedagogues and psychologists;
- Work experience in high school of at least 2 years;
- Experience in working with students from marginalized groups and additional classes of at least 2 years;
- Good communication skills in working with students and parents;
- Understanding the educational difficulties that children from the Roma population face
Note: Professors who have previously been engaged through this project may have the advantage of being re-selected as mentors for students
Mentor responsibilities:
- Work with Roma students (maximum five students per mentor) by providing additional support to students in order to attend classes regularly, improve school success, inclusion in additional classes, preparation for continuing education in higher levels, student counseling, communication with parents;
- Providing support to students in mastering school materials; assistance to students in preparing for remedial exams (for students who remain on the exams in August);
- Support in the preparation and collection of documentation for the scholarship intended for high school students of the Roma population;
- Advising students on further choice of profession and providing assistance and support in researching the labor market; helping students find professional internships;
- Writing monthly reports on their work according to the form submitted by NGO Young Roma, submitting a copy of the certificate of mentored students at the end of the school year.
