On June 7th, 2019, representatives of the NGO Young Roma organized a workshop for Roma students who are attending secondary school. The workshop was held in the premises of the Bureau of Labor of Podgorica and it was focused on the skills necessary for employment. The workshop was conducted by a staff member of the Bureau of Labor, who deals with counseling and professional orientation. The workshop was attended by 9 students of different profiles.
Also, students practiced how to present themselves to the employer, to pay attention to the communication, and they learned about the importance of non-verbal communication and business bonton. Afterwards, each student was interviewed about the school they attend, their field of study, and about the student's satisfaction with it.
We also presented them the opportunity to gain professional practice (internship) over the summer through our organization, for which interested students applied.
At the end of the workshop students were given materials with the information that was discussed during the workshop.
This activity was held in the framework of the project "Increasing access and participation of Roma students in secondary education and transition to the labour market", funded by the European Union, and implemented through the Roma Education Fund.
