Konik Camp will be closed by the end of 2016 [RTCG]

Problem of camps Konik 1 and 2 will be solved with the construction of apartments in several municipalities by the end of next year, announced the Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Zorica Kovacevic. Kovacevic met today with the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Kosovo Arban Abrashi, and met him with the commitment of Montenegro to implement the activities of the Regional Housing Project.

Minister said that the tender for the construction of housing units in Niksic is now open and pointed out that the housing units in Berane, Herceg Novi and Home for the Elderly in the Municipality of Pljevlja are alredy under construction. 

"Implementation of these activities by the end of 2016, will result in resolution of the problems related to camps Konik 1 and 2", the statement said.

Kovacevic have emphasized the good partnership of the Government, unions and employers, which is reflected in the successful operation of the Social Council.

"Kovacevic informed Minister Abrashi on the establishment of the Information System of Social Protection (Social Card), as well as all its benefits, and called for cooperation and the transfer of experience and good practices", a statement from the Ministry said.

Abrashi expressed satisfaction with activities undertaken to implement the Regional Housing Programme, as well as future joint activities.
