Launching conference for the project of scholarships for Roma high school students

On January 17 2019, at 11 a.m. NGO Young Roma organized Launching Conference in the EU Info Center, where the project "Increasing access and participation of Roma students in secondary education and transition to labour market" was presented.
The conference presented the main goal and activities that will be implemented within the project, the budget and the number of students who, according to the project are eligible for scholarship, mentoring and the opportunity to conduct the internship in the public or private sector.
Meetings with mentors in Podgorica

On December 25th and 26th, 2018 representatives of NGO Young Roma held meetings with professors in secondary schools in Podgorica where Roma and Egyptian students attend classes. Meetings were held with professors who were mentoring students in previous projects. The aim of these meetings was to inform them about a new project where mentoring and support to Roma and Egyptian students will continue to be implemented. Mentors are familiarized with the project in general, objectives and budget details.

Dana 18.12.2018. godine, predstavnici NVO Mladi Romi sastali su se sa predstavnicima Ministarstva prosvjete kako bi razgovorali o međusobnoj saradnji u okviru projekta „Povećane mogućnosti obrazovanja za romske učenike i mlade Rome na Zapadnom Balkanu i u Turskoj“. Razgovor je vođen sa gospodinom Marashem Dukajem, generalnim direktorom Direktorata za obrazovanje pripadnika manjinskih naroda i drugih nacionalnih zajednica, u prostorijama Ministarstva.
Memoranum of understanding signed

NGO Young Roma, as a national partner organization for Montenegro, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between 13 organizations from Western Balkans and Turkey. Memorandum was signed on November 27th, during a networking event held in Budapest. The Memorandum of Understanding is facilitated by Roma Education Fund (REF) for the purpose of the project „Increased education opportunities for Roma students and Roma youth in Western Balkans and Turkey“ funded by European Union and REF.

The project "Increasing access and participation of Roma[1] students in secondary education and transition to labour market" is a regional project funded by the European Union and implemented by the Roma Education Fund (REF). NGO Young Roma is a national partner organization for implementation of this project in Montenegro.
Considering that this is a regional project, it is being implemented in other countries of the Western Balkans: Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Kosovo[2], the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, as well as in Turkey.
In cooperation with partners (Ministry of Education, Ministry for Human and Minority Rights, Center for Vocational Education, The Bureau for Education Services, The Employment Bureau of Montenegro) NGO Young Roma will work on improving the school success and employability of Roma students attending secondary school. What this project aims to achieve is:
