announces a CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

for hiring field associates to help enroll Roma and Egyptian children in preschool, primary and secondary education

NGO Young Roma is announcing a call for applications for hiring 13 field associates on the territory of Montenegro with the aim of helping children and families from the Roma community to enroll in educational institutions (preschool, primary and secondary education).

Field associates will be engaged in the following municipalities:

  1. Podgorica - 4 associates
  2. Niksic - 1 associate
  3. Berane - 1 associate
  4. Herceg Novi - 1 associate
  5. Ulcinj - 1 associate
  6. Bar - 1 associate
  7. Budva - 1 associate
  8. Tivat - 1 associate
  9. Kotor - 1 associate
  10. Bijelo Polje - 1 associate

Associates will be assigned following tasks:

  1. Home visits to Roma families with children who are ready to be enrolled in some of the above mentioned levels of education (preschool, primary and secondary education);
  2. Talk to children and parents about the importance of education and inform them about the online enrollment procedure;
  3. Technical support and assistance to children and parents when enrolling in educational institutions;
  4. Submitting reports to the NGO Young Roma on the implemented activities.

Criteria for selecting a field associate:

-         Experience in working with children and students from marginalized groups;

-         Good communication skills in working with children and parents from the Roma community;

-         Understanding the educational difficulties that children from the Roma population face;

-         Basic computer skills (MS Office and Internet).

Preference may be given to persons:

-         Who have finished high school;

-         Who speak Romani or Albanianv language;

-         Who have no other employment;

It is desirable that associates have their own laptop or tablet.

Associates will be hired for a period of one month (June 20 - July 20).
