Signed Memorandum of Understanding between members of Coalition of Roma and non-Roma organizations

Members of the coalition "Together for the inclusion of Roma and Egyptians through a transparent and sustainable public policies", consisting of the Center for Roma Initiatives, Civic Alliance, Roma youth organization ,, Phiren Amenca ", Center for Democratic Transition and NGO Young Roma, signed on the 17th of February 2017 in Podgorica, a Memorandum of Understanding. Mentioned organizations will jointly implement the project “United support for Roma inclusion trough transparent and sustainable public policies” which is funded by the Open Society Foundation from Budapest.

Through this project, the process of inclusion of Roma and Egyptians in Montenegrin society will be monitored, particularly in terms of the effectiveness of previously implemented measures, its transparency, transparency of budget allocations on the local and national level. Coalition members will advocate for an increase of budget for programs for Roma and Egyptian population, increased transparency, more efficient work of institutions and organizations, reduce of the potential misuse of funds, as well as including measures related to Roma and Egyptians in all national policies. Through monitoring of the budget and social welfare sector, education, employment, housing, project will contribute to mapping the key obstacles that stand in the way of successful inclusion of Roma and Egyptians in Montenegrin society.

Continuously during the implementation of the project, findings and results will be announced, while the final product of the project will be a comprehensive monitoring report with recommendations for changing policies and institutional practices in Montenegro.
