Organized meeting of the working group for the development of Platform for public and political activism

The meeting of the Working Group for the development of Platform for public and political activism, was held in Podgorica on 12.07.2016. The meeting was attended by activists Elvis Beriša, Mensur Šalja, Almedina Jašaraj, Serđan Baftijari, and coordinator of the group, legal expert Vladimir Bošković, as well as members of Young Roma team, Samir Jaha, Irena Marunović and Jelena Topalović
The goal of mentioned meeting was the work on the development of Platform for public and political activism of young Roma man and women.

Platform which will be generated as a product of the Working Group will include guidance and clarification that can help significantly to a young person aimed to initiate social changes and benefits for the community. In addition, the Platform will include an overview of the difficulties in the process of advocacy as well as ways to overcome them. Whether the Platform is being used by the person which is just learning about activism, or a person who has had experience in this field, it will contribute to proper guidance of initiatives, defining priorities, targeting institutions that are responsible for specific problems and will ultimately result in positive changes.

Activity of creating the Platform for public and political activism is being implemented in scope of project ,, Strengthening capacities of Roma for public activism-United we reach more ", which is financially supported by the European Union, Delegation of the European Union in Montenegro. NGO Young Roma is project coordinator, and as a partners in the project are included Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro and the Coalition Roma Circle.
